Final Cut #29

CCR Script #30

Hey There! My name is Yahya Salama and this is my Creative Critical Reflection. In my storyboard, it describes a smartly dressed realtor on his way to inspect and newly bought property. This film follows conventions of a usual drama film because it starts with a calm scene that is introducing a setting while subtly inducing the audience into provoking thoughts of what the film is possibly about. The first two minutes of the film are a transition to the main shooting location with a slight showing of it in the first two minutes. The story begins with shots of a vehicle transitioning through different landscapes. The storyboard depicts a vehicle moving through forestry and on a single lane road. This is to make the setting for the first location where the story begins look more isolated. It further explores a woody landscape and gives the audience an idea of what to expect. It will feature a view of the right side of the vehicle as it is moving and will show the inside of the vehicle and...

Final Script #28

Oh boy, this is an interesting one. My final script is completed. It is written up and done to match the previous story board. However, the storyboard has changed and so has the script. The change in story and theme resulted in a change of dialogue from the character. After doing lots of  research by watching plenty of films, I have understood how the first two minutes of a film show appear. It should build the setting of the story and not give too much content. On the topic of content, a common theme I have noticed is an overspilled amount of content in every film opening made in this class. Some address the story and general idea while others give you a whole story in two minutes. An example of this is the film my friend is doing, he is including entire arcs and storylines to his first two minutes which would overwhelm the audience with too much content. As a result, I preferred to create a non-complex opening that won't overwhelm the audience. I will be creating a film tha...

Final Storyboard #27

Image
Here it is, the storyboard for the first two minutes of my film. The grand opening for my grand film. The first two minutes of the film will be several shots describing the setting of the film. As a result, there is not much content in terms of story but content in terms of setting. Since its the first two minutes, it will depict shots of a vehicle transitioning through different landscapes. In the drawings, it depicts a vehicle moving through forestry and on a single lane road. This is to make the setting for the first location where the story begins look more isolated. it further explores a woody landscape and gives the audience an idea of what to expect. In the first page of the story board it features a variation of shots from a drone shot above forest canopy to an ariel shot of a car moving on a road. It will feature a view of the right side of the vehicle as it is moving and will show the inside of the vehicle and the main character who is driving it. it will feature the characte...

Experience of Equipment #26

My use of the equipment has been gaining proficiency due to use in projects beyond mine. My project is completed with filming, and I'm currently within the editing phase of my project. This will mean that the Final Cut will be posted very soon. As a result, I have been able to aid other films. Yesterday, on Sunday, I had helped classmates with filming. I had brought a car mount, a tripod, and a camera. I had arrived at several locations for different setups of filming. I had filmed shots of people talking in several different ways. Most importantly of all my equipment, are the tripod and car mount. They have had the most use of all the other equipment due to their versatile application. They can be adjusted and used to set up different shots at different heights. As a result, we were able to record a wide diversity of shots for the film. The camera was filming in 16:9 ratio. This made the recording to be displayed in the same size as the other footage that was recorded on the phon...

Summary of Current Events #24

Image
A summary at this time is allowing me to summarize all the events before this post. This small scale project has overshot on the budget. It has lost so much time. It has made little progress. It is safe to say that I went way over the budget. My terrible financial decisions have really come out during the planning of this film. The original budget is 200 dollars, whereas the actual amount spent is 301 dollars. I spent 301 dollars on the film equipment. Time is wasted in more ways than one. Time is highly limited due to the battery life of the camera which affects how long I can film for. Time also has been limited due to the equipment that is not compatible for each other. Production is delayed largely as equipment is not the right configuration and battery life is low. Generally, footage is limited as the footage that was filmed will require individual editing. This will take more time. I also realized that I need to change the setting of some shots to make the location in the wo...
